What does God say about my body?

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
What does God say about my body?

  1. My body is not mine. It belongs to Christ.
  2. Jesus paid for my body when He died on the cross for me
  3. My body is a Holy Temple. His Spirit lives within me
  4. God expects me to take care of my body
  5. God will resurrect my body after I die.
Think about it for a second. We've been given this amazing gift. That moment we are baptized by water, that moment we are willing to proclaim that we are children of Christ, we are given a promise that will never be broken. Our bodies are a vessel for the Holy Spirit. Christ paid for our bodies with Death, we are expected to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Christ and so that others can see Christ through us. When God sent his son to die for us, He was giving us a shot at living this life that we would never have otherwise.

If we don't take care of our bodies, how can we be messengers for Christ? How can we minister to others if we aren't taking care of ourselves? God wants us to be healthy. To eat right. To be physically active. By doing these things, we can take care of our bodies and we can take care of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. We should be living our lives in a way in which others can see Christ through us.

Are you taking care of your body? What can you do, today, to change that? Pray about it. Ask God to give you strength and guidance.

God Bless
